Miners started carving anthracite for their own amusement in the 19th century. It flourished into a street of workshops in the 1990s and is now down to a single couple.

Named for Gherman Titov, who visited with Ho Chi Minh in November 1962. About 400 steps to a summit around 110 metres up, and the most complete view of the bay you can reach on foot.

Paddling is legal only in mapped zones and banned near the big caves. Rangers fine from two million dong, and one whole area opens only from October to March.
