What this is

A short list, on purpose

The Guinness Book of World Records, for things you can actually go and do.

Most travel sites answer "what is there to do here?" That question has hundreds of answers in any city, and almost all of them are available in every other city too. This one answers something narrower: what can you do here that you could not do somewhere else?

Every entry has to pass one test — would someone specifically travel to this city to do this? A competent art museum does not pass. A pleasant park does not pass. The restaurant with cliff divers passes.

What we leave out

Chains and franchises, even where this is the only branch for miles — that is distribution, not uniqueness. Anything that exists in most cities: aquariums, observation decks, escape rooms, hop-on-hop-off buses. Anything permanently closed. Anything we could not verify against two independent sources.

Free things count

Booking sites cannot show you a viewpoint, a mural, or a specific bench at sunset, because there is no commission on any of them. Those are often the most distinctive things a place has, so they are here.

Where the list comes from

Research across local writing, resident recommendations, and travel press, then filtered against a written rubric and checked against its sources. Sources are shown on every entry. If something is wrong or has closed, tell us.

Why it remembers you

Marking things you have done, want to do, or would rather skip teaches it what to put in front of you in the next city. That works without an account — signals live in your browser until you decide to sign in, and then they come with you.
