188.88 m tower, 230 to a cabin
An aerial tramway crossing Cua Luc bay in Ha Long city, running over two kilometres between Bai Chay and the hill above the city, inside the Sun World leisure park.
Why it's unique
Two records, both certified by Guinness World Records rather than by a records company that sells certification: the tallest cable car tower at 188.88 metres, and the largest cabin at 230 passengers.
The cabin is the part that surprises people. It is two storeys with six sets of doors on two levels, so you board a deck rather than a gondola, and 230 people is a small ferry rather than a lift.
Before you go
Go at the end of the day. The crossing faces west over Cua Luc and the bay, and the same ticket buys a considerably worse experience at noon.
It sits inside a commercial theme park, so expect the usual bundling with a Ferris wheel and a water park. The cable car on its own is the thing worth having, and it is worth being clear about that at the ticket window.
