The fine print
Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
UniqueToDo is operated by Oak Ellum LLC. This page explains what we collect and why. The short version: as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, and a name if you add one. We email you a one-time code to sign in. There are no passwords.
- What you mark. Places you save, have done, skip, or rate. This works without an account, using an anonymous cookie. If you sign in later, it moves to your account.
- Your location, only if you share it. On the Nearby page your browser asks first. We round it to about 1 km before saving, which is enough to find the nearest city and not enough to find your home.
- What you send us. Suggestions, photos, coverage requests, and their optional email address. Contact form messages are emailed to us and not stored on the site.
- Technical data. Your IP address and browser details reach our host with every request. We use them to keep the site secure and to guess your city so we can suggest places nearby. We do not store your IP address.
- Sponsor views and link clicks. When a sponsor banner appears on screen, or you click it or a link to another site, we count that, along with the page, the site the link goes to, and your country. No cookie, and nothing that identifies you.
Cookies
- Visitor cookie (
utd_v): remembers what you have marked. Lasts up to 13 months. - Session cookie (
utd_s): keeps you signed in. Lasts 30 days. - Google Analytics: counts visits and pages viewed, so we know what people find useful.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: on the contact form only, to check you are not a bot.
We do not use advertising cookies.
Sponsor links pass through our site and then to the sponsor, sometimes by way of an affiliate network. Either may set its own cookie when you arrive so the sponsor knows we sent you.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run the site, and only to do that job:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database, security, and Turnstile.
- Resend: sends sign-in codes and other email.
- Google Analytics: visit statistics.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it with authorities only if the law requires it. Booking links take you to other sites, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you ask us to delete it. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Anonymous activity stays tied to its cookie until the cookie expires or you clear it.
Your choices
- To see, correct, or delete your data, contact us. We reply within 30 days.
- You can block or clear cookies in your browser. The site still works.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
These rights apply wherever you live.
Children
UniqueToDo is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by email first.
