A basement room under the Clarion on Waverly Place, full of costumes and photographs from Chinatown's nightclub years.
Why it's unique
A tiny museum of the Chinese American supper-club performers of the mid-century, founded by Cynthia Yee of the Clarion Performing Arts Center. The subject itself happened here, in the clubs of Chinatown.
It has not been verified as a formal "only", so the claim to the country carries moderate confidence.
Before you go
Book a slot rather than turning up. The Clarion's pages give Saturday hours starting at either noon or 2pm, and one reference says appointment only. An event upstairs is another way in on a day it would otherwise be shut.
Look for the photo of Pat Chin with Frank Sinatra and club owner Andy Wong from about 1957.
