The Guinness World Record for longest monkey bars, 149.992 m, was set on 14 April 2019 at Sunshine Wharf Kobe by Autobacs Seven: 556 rungs along the old ferry quay.
Why it's unique
Guinness World Records lists these as the longest monkey bars in the world, at 149.992 m.
They are free and open to anyone, so the record is something you can attempt rather than look at. Most adults manage a few metres; one enthusiast crossed them three times over without dropping.
Before you go
It was meant to be 150 m and came up 8 mm short because the steel shrank in the December cold during construction. The rungs are coated in red, blue and green against sea air.
The 2019 launch race drew SASUKE contestants, and one enthusiast crossed it three times over (450 m) without dropping; most adults manage a few metres. The most recent confirmation that it still stands is from 2022 to 2023.
