The Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum (CUPNOODLES MUSEUM OSAKA IKEDA) calls itself the birthplace of instant noodles and houses a faithful recreation of the backyard shed in Ikeda where Chicken Ramen, the world's first instant noodle, was developed. Admission is free.

Why it's unique

This is the original: the town where the world's first instant noodle was developed, with the shed it came out of recreated inside. Yokohama's museum is the second.

What you do here is make noodles yourself: your own cup of noodles in My CUPNOODLES Factory, or Chicken Ramen by hand from flour in the Chicken Ramen Factory workshop.

Before you go

The thing to book is the Chicken Ramen Factory (hand-made from flour, 70 minutes, five sessions a day, reservation and age limits); My CUPNOODLES Factory just needs a same-day numbered ticket. The Instant Noodles Tunnel holds about 800 packages.

It is closed on Tuesdays, which catches people out, and had a maintenance closure in early January 2026.
