Ride the longest glass water slide in Southeast Asia
600 metres of clear tube, 60 metres up
SkyCity Tower stands in the i-City park at Shah Alam, about forty minutes west of central Kuala Lumpur. You go up sixty metres, get into a two-person inflatable raft, and come down six hundred metres of glass tube that wraps around the tower and then away from it.
Why it's unique
It is the first glass water slide in Malaysia and, at six hundred metres, the longest in Southeast Asia.
Water slides are almost always opaque fibreglass, and for good reasons: clear acrylic costs more, weighs more, and shows every scratch and water mark. Building the entire run transparent means you watch each drop arriving instead of meeting it blind, and you can see the car park moving under you the whole way down. The tower itself is not a building with a slide attached. It was put up to hold the slide.
Before you go
It is not in Kuala Lumpur. i-City is in Shah Alam, roughly 20 km west, and about forty minutes by car without traffic. Plan it as a half day rather than something you drop into between city stops.
Go after dark. The slide is lit from within and the tower runs to midnight, while the water park below closes at 6pm. Sunset gets you both.
Ticket prices differ for Malaysians and visitors, and the discounted bundles on the official site are Malaysian-only, so budget from the international rate.
Worth knowing the history: the slide opened in January 2025, and was suspended within a fortnight after a float came off and injured a rider, with the city council separately saying it had not been cleared to operate. It reopened after safety netting was installed along the run, and tickets are on sale through 2026. The netting is visible from inside, which is the trade for the view.
