Eat yakitori in an alley two people wide
Six seats a bar
A lane of tiny yakitori counters behind Shinjuku station, most seating five or six people, almost none taking reservations.
Why it's unique
It is one of the last surviving fragments of the post-war black market alleys, still operating as bars rather than as a reconstruction of them.
Before you go
First come first served, so go early or late and expect to stand. Cash. Many places have a seating charge, which is normal and not a scam.
