Why it's unique
Every Meow Wolf building is a different permanent artwork by different artists rather than a format repeated between cities, so each one is judged on its own.
The claim here is deliberately modest, because the catalogue already holds Convergence Station in Denver. This is the only one of these in Texas, and it is a different artwork from that one, which is a state record rather than anything larger.
Before you go
Allow three hours. People consistently budget one and leave having seen a fraction of it.
The narrative is optional and largely concealed — you can wander and enjoy it as spectacle, or follow the threads and discover a great deal more structure than it first appears to have. Timed entry, so book ahead. It is about 30 km from downtown, inside a shopping mall, which is disorienting in a way that turns out to suit it.
