A working United States Mint, striking coins that go into circulation, which lets the public walk through and watch it happen.

Why it's unique

Very few mints anywhere let visitors onto the production floor of a facility making live currency. You are watching blanks become money that will be in a till within weeks.

The Denver facility carries the D mint mark, which is on a substantial share of the coins in American pockets, and the scale of the operation is the surprise.

Before you go

Free, but tickets go fast and must be arranged in advance.

There is a strict no-bags rule with no storage on site, which turns people away at the door daily. Bring nothing you cannot put in a pocket, and allow time for airport-grade screening.
