Throw a pot at the kiln that claims to be Bat Trang's parent village

One kiln, one potter, local kaolin

This is a single workshop rather than a village of kilns, so ring ahead rather than turning up; opening is not guaranteed and weekdays are the safer bet. Wheel sessions are possible for a small fee. The thing to ask for is not a souvenir but the clay. Anyone who has already done Bat Trang outside Hanoi will find this the more interesting version, because there is one person to talk to rather than a market.
